the stagbeetle larva..morphing into a pupa

Hello~ this is jonathan
This time  I'm going to show  the stagbeetle larva..morphing into a pupa

First, the pupa comes out from the larva's head....

You can see the pupa forming inside the larva's body.

The head is almost out...

Half of the pupa has come out from the larva's body.

Undergoing metamorphosis is a very dangerous thing so you should not touch it.

.........It's a female pupa - you know because a female's jaw is very small.

Last piece of larva's body is coming out.

It's very transparent right after metamorphosis but later the color becomes yellow.

Dorcus titanus castanicolor is a beetle that lives in Asia
Its lives for 1~2years
This beetle is very violent so they often fight each other. So you should seperate the males...
This is a male beetle. Its size is between 3cm~8cm
You have to be careful because it could bite you....
This is a female beetle...it is smaller than the male(2cm4cm)
They live in moist places and they are easy to raise...
